Welcome to The Castle Players

Powering up for an impressive production

A new set of power tools has arrived with perfect timing for The Castle Players’ latest production.

Set building is about to begin for Shakespeare’s Henry V which will be performed on a wide circular wooden deck. The group was desperate, however, for a new set of electrical equipment to help with the construction and coming to the rescue has been Teesdale Action Partnership with a grant of £928 to make the purchase possible.

The order includes electrical saws, power drills and screw drivers which will help The Castle Players maintain their reputation for ad-venturous summer productions. Collecting the new equipment from S&A Fabrications’ Steve McKie is Laurence Sach, director of this year’s production.

Angus Wheeler, Chair of Castle Players said, “the Castle Players are extremely grateful to Teesdale Action Partnership for making this purchase possible. The annual production is a major under-taking involving well over fifty people and over the years it has es-tablished a considerable reputation. This equipment will play a vital role in helping maintain that tradition.”

Henry V runs from Tuesday 5th to Saturday 9th July in the grounds of the Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle. Tickets are on sale now from The Witham Box Office, online from www.castleplayers.co.uk or from 01833 631 107
