The Merry Wives of Windsor -- Summer 2003

merrywives posterDirected by Gordon Duffy-McGhie

Summer 2003

Queen Elizabeth I paid a visit to Barnard Castle for this year's production as part of an event which filled the Bowes Museum grounds with 17th century artists, performers and craftspeople - all brought to life by The Castle Players and The Turrets, and by their many supporters in Teesdale.

"A delightful summer evening, a picnic, a glass of wine and a fabulous piece of open air entertainment on the doorstep. Perfect." - Darlington & Stockton Times

The Wind in the Willows -- Winter 2001 and 2006

headshotDirected by Trevor Clarke

Winter 2001 and 2006

Kenneth Graham's much loved tales of the riverbank were adapted by Trevor Clarke to tour village halls in and around Teesdale.

Combining live action with group narration in what was becoming a well-recognised style for The Castle Players' winter shows, the production proved hughely popular both in 2001/2 and in a revised version in 2006/7.
