About The Production

Adapted from the books Alice In Wonderland and Alice Through The Looking Glass, our outdoor summer production for 2019 brings the wonderful world of Wonderland to the grounds of the Bowes Museum.

Directed by Dawn Trevor, the cast of 51 adults and children are working hard on some of your favourite scenes. Come and have tea with the Mad Hatter, play Flamingo Croquet with the Queen of Hearts and witness the trial of the century to find out who really did eat the tarts.

Performing Outside - Some Info!

The first thing to note is that we never cancel our performances, the show always goes on whatever the weather, so you need to come prepared! Warm clothing, blankets and cushions are all a must. Even if we are in a heat wave (fingers crossed!) the temperature can soon drop as the sun goes down, always best to layer up. Umberellas are not allowed, so rain macs with hoods are a must too (or even better, book early and get a covered seat). You can bring a picnic (some poeple do a full on table, chairs, candlesticks and champagne!) or you can sample the delicious hot and cold food that will be provided both pre-show and during the interval.

This year we will have the Alice In Wonderland experience to entertain you before you take your seats, so make the most of our wonderful surroundings and enjoy the show!
